How to add Solana to Metamask

Summary: The Solana Network is not compatible with a Metamask wallet because it is not an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) equivalent chain.

The Solana protocol was built in a scripting language called Rust, which is different from Ethereum which was built on Solidity. The Metamask cryptocurrency wallet only supports networks that are built on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) using the solidity language.

Examples of EVM-compatible chains are Avalanche (AVAX), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Fantom (FTM), or Layer-2 networks like Optimism and Arbitrum.
