Polygon is a decentralised EVM compatible network that enables developers to build scalable user-friendly dApps with significantly lower transaction fees than Ethereum. It is the most popular network to use and build on for retail investors. Polygon has facilitated the launching of multiple retail/celebrity projects on its network.

Fantom Opera is a decentralised blockchain network with smart contracts integration for applications, it’s EVM compatible and powered by Fantom's aBFT consensus. All smart contracts that are developed on Ethereum can operate on Opera, with an increase in scalability and security.

Can I Bridge Crypto from Polygon to Fantom

Yes, there are currently 4 different bridging protocols that provide direct bridging between the Polygon Mainnet and the Fantom Opera network. The DEXs that allow this bridging are Synapse Protocol, Allbridge, Multichain & SpookySwap.

We recommend using the Synapse protocol as it offers the lowest bridging fees, fastest transaction time and widest selection of bridging tokens (cryptocurrencies). Synapse is the largest bridge (by volume and users) in DeFi and currently turns $1B in bridging volume a month.

How to Bridge from the Polygon Mainnet to the Fantom Opera network

In the below example we use SYN (the native token of Synapse) as the bridging token but you can also send USDC, USDT, DAI, gOHM and nUSD. The entire bridging process takes around a minute to complete. Follow the steps to get started.
Step One: Go to Synapse Protocol and connect your Metamask wallet
Step Two: Select Polygon and Fantom as your two networks
Step Three: Input the amount of SYN (or any token) you want to bridge

Step Four: Confirm the transactions on Metamask and your funds will arrive in your wallet within a minute

Before you can bridge tokens between these networks you will first need to have both networks added to your Metamask Web3 Wallet. Simply click your Metamask extension and click on networks then ‘Add Networks’. You will be redirected to a form on your browser and need to fill in the details as per below (for each chain).

Staking options on Synapse: Fantom & Polygon

Not only can you bridge and trade cryptocurrencies on the Synapse platform, but you can also stake multiple cryptocurrencies across 15 networks. Synapse is the only DEX (decentralised exchange) that allows multi-chain cryptocurrency staking. When staking on Synapse you can choose from single-sided or multi-staking options, this means you can invest either one token in the liquidity pool, or two, or all tokens.

Refer to the photo below to see what staking options are available on the Fantom and Polygon networks.

Bridging Fees: Polygon to Fantom

When bridging between any networks it's important to consider the fees that are involved. Most bridging protocols will typically charge two fees, the bridging and network transaction fee. On Synapse the total fees to bridge from Polygon to Fantom are $5AUD. On Allbridge, SpookySwap & Multichain the fees range from $15 - $30 AUD.

If you want to get the fees lower, we recommend using the token SYN, it is the native token of Synapse protocol. When you use this token you are guaranteed 0% slippage and the lowest fees possible (1 SYN) as Synapse incentivises users to purchase SYN for low fees. If you would like to buy SYN, you can get it on UniSwap or Trader Joe on the Avalanche network.
